Defeated coalition forces (FARDC, FDLR, Mayi mayi Nyatura and others) wrecking havoc as they flee!
As the fighting in Eastern DRC particularly in North Kivu goes into it's second week(since the breach of the last ceasefire by the government of Kinshasa), the defeated indisciplined coalition forces are wrecking havoc against the civilians and their property whom of course FARDC was meant to guard and protect. One won't be wrong to say that they have learnt and adopted FDLR and other terrorist groups' modus operandi where they kill, rape, rob and torture innocent civilians wherever they pass.
This however has justified M23's cause to take up arms and fight to liberate North Kivu from these blood thirsty killers marauding as government soldiers and their criminal partners. This has however won M23 support from the civilian population in the region and this is a big win for the liberation cause.
Congolese civilians who had fled to Uganda have returned to their homes in big numbers in areas under M23 and they're being helped to settle back in their communities. The most surprising and interesting thing is that they have all found their homes intact courtesy of the discipline and professional conduct exhibited by M23 fighters. This is something unheard of where rebel forces never loot or allow civilians to loot their neighbors property during war. This deserves a pat on the back of M23 leadership for instilling utmost discipline in their fighters.
Last but not least, defeated DR Congo civilian and military leadership is still spreading hateful propaganda against Rwandofones and the whole world should wake up and condemn this in the strongest terms possible.
In conclusion, the DR Congo is advised to dissociate themselves from terrorist groups like FDLR and others and instead humbly seat at the negotiating table with M23 which despite being hugely triumphant at the battle front still left them a window for peaceful negotiations to bring an end to this conflict in the region. Let's keep watching the space!
